2、urtherwhat even is culture?The Canadian psychologist Dr.Elliott Jaquesoften called the grandfather of organizational cultureput it simply:“Culture is the way we do things around here.”And so,once we had our new valuesour Dos and Dontsthe real work began:How do we“do things”differently?How do we live
3、 these values?How do we sustain a culture that reflects who we say we are?Dr.Elliott JaquesCULTURE SUMMIT AFRICA 2025Melissa Daimler Principal at Daimler Partners wrote a book called Re-Culturing,and in it,she lays out a simple but powerful playbook:1.Define the value-based behaviors you want.2.Inte

5、haviorAs Abdul just shared,we engaged staff to co-create our new values.But we didnt stop at fancy words.We asked:“What does this value look like in action?What would it sound like,feel like,show up as,in meetings,in conflict,in decision-making?”This was our first step in shaping culture.We werent j
6、ust listing valueswe were defining expected behaviors.InternalProcesses Next,we knew culture doesnt live in postersit lives in processes.So,we created a couple of projects:PROJECT PLUGWe looked at recruitment and asked,“Are we hiring for alignment to these behaviors?”PROJECT PLUG is helping us adjus
