、Development of Small Wind Energy in Ukraine and MoldovaAbout VETERMy name is Andrey Polyakov.I am the owner of VETER companyWe have been installing solar systems and small-and medium-sized wind turbines in Ukraine and Moldova since 2013.We are currently actively collaborating with Chinese wind turbi
、ne manufacturers. In the past, there was a reliance on oil,gas and coal, especially during Soviet times. In the present, there are power outages in both Ukraine and Moldova due to attacks on energy infrastructure,so individuals and enterprises are interested in energy self-sufficiency through off-grid so
、urces of energy generation. Both Ukraine and Moldova are EU-candidate countries,so there is an incentive to develop new eco-friendly technologies of power generation for future needsSmall-and medium-sized wind energy is underdeveloped, but has potential for growth. We are making enormous efforts to dev
、elop it,but we are facing a host of challenges along the way:-small wind turbines up to 10 kW are ineffective because they are designed for high winds of 10-11 m/s,and low-altitude winds in our region at an altitude of 20 m are 5-5.5 m/s.We are telling our Chinese partners this, and they have already
、 made a wind generator that reaches 100%power at 9 ms.We are currently testing them and will give an answer later on its efficiency.Another challenge is high prices:A 5 kW wind turbine,turnkey,costs$20,000 USDPeople want a lower priceThe average price of a medium-sized wind turbine is sky-high:a 250
、 kW wind turbine in China costs$315,000 USD,while the turnkey price in Moldova is$850,000 USD(the payback period under ideal conditions is over 10 years).Currently, people are unwilling to purchase wind turbines and prefer solar panels due to their lower cost.M
