2、lopment Council(HKADC),a statutory body set up by the government to support the broad development of the arts in Hong Kong,actively aligns with the direction set out in the Blueprint for Arts and Culture and Creative Industries Development.This strategic alignment aims to foster Hong Kongs evolution

3、 into an“East-meets-West centre for international cultural exchange”.In addition to its roles in grant allocation,promotion and development,and special projects,policy research is also one of the HKADCs core functions.Recognising the need for data-driven research and policy formulation,the HKADC ini

4、tiated the Hong Kong Annual Arts Survey Report(the Survey)since 2007/08.The Survey regularly collects and compiles activity data on performing arts,film arts,visual arts and literary arts,continuously tracking the development and changes within Hong Kongs arts ecology.Initially,the Survey focused on

5、 visual arts exhibitions and performing arts activities,with its scope gradually expanding over time.The second and third years saw the integration of film arts programmes and a broader statistical coverage of performing arts.In 2018/19,the Survey further encompassed literary and reading promotion a

6、ctivities,thereby establishing a more comprehensive cultural and arts statistical database.For over a decade,thanks to the participation and support of the arts sector,the Survey has consistently provided a set of indicators to measure the local arts and cultural ecology.Its research findings have b
