2、ustainable Aviation Fuels(SAF)and innovation.The index analyzes around 150 airlines and scores maturity levels by airline type and region one of the widest sample groups and criteria used in such a study.Another first is the inclusion of operational data,making the index more reflective of real-worl

3、d performance.Operational practices achieved the highest maturity rating and SAF the lowest.Low-cost airlines led the way in all four levers.Fleet efficiency:We used sub-indices to assess fuel burn and emissions.Newer aircraft showed up to 50%lower fuel burn per seat than 1980s models.As their fleet

4、s are younger,low-cost airlines achieved superior scores compared to legacy and cargo airlines.Regional results were broadly similar as adoption of efficiency technologies is progressing evenly.Asia led the way due to strong fleet expansions.Operational practices:We used OpenAirlines data to measure

5、 the maturity of six operational best practices(basic,advanced and expert).Low-cost airlines demonstrated higher maturity in applying both basic and advanced best practices compared to other airline types.Legacy carriers performed better in expert-level practices.Due to their ease of implementation
