3、nt position in the global energy supply,accounting for 80%of the total pri-mary energy supply.Fossil fuels are sourced from coal,crude oil,and natural gas,showing an increase of 6%from 2020 to 2021.On the other hand,renewable energy technologies like solar,wind,hydro,biomass,and geothermal constitut
4、e only 15%of the primary energy supply in 2021,indicating a slight 0.4%decline from the preceding year due to the COVID-19 pandemic effects.Within the electricity sector,coal and gas remain substantial contributors to the global electricity mix,generating almost 60%of the worlds electricity in 2020.
5、Meanwhile,in the same year,renewables ac-counted for 29%of global electricity production,predominantly driven by the increase in solar and wind energy,with significant contributions from hydropower and biomass.Hydropower held the largest share at 58%,followed by wind at 21%,solar at 11%,and biomass,
