3、iable indicator of the standard of living a nation can sustainably achieve.This metric captures factors of production,including the quality and sophistication of output.When output per worker rises,wages rise with it.When it stagnates,no amount of macroeconomic management can sustainably lift living
4、 standards.In 2024,India stood at$5,964 in output per worker,behind advanced economies,China($25,030),and Vietnam($7,272).The trajectory is upward,but the structural productivity gap remains and bridging it is not a question of momentum.It is a question of depth,of systematically understanding and r
5、equires building the conditions that enhance competitiveness across firms,clusters and regions.It was this imperative that gave rise to the India Competitiveness Initiative.The Initiative traces its origins to a 2017 interaction between Prof.Michael E.Porter and the Honble Prime Minister of India,wh
6、ich laid the foundation for a sustained,collaborative effort on Indias long-term growth strategy.In 2022,the Institute for Competitiveness in collaboration with Prof.Porter and Dr.Christian Ketels of Harvard Business School released the Competitiveness Roadmap for India100 under the aegis of the EAC
