4、survive Russian roulette is to stop playing.”That metaphor can also be applied to PFAS(per-and polyfluorinated substances),the notorious group of chemical pollutants that has gained much attention over the past two decades as their presence in the environment and grave harm to human health have been
5、 documented.Known mostly for keeping food from sticking to packaging or cookware and making clothes and carpets resistant to stains,PFAS have been used in many other applications,including refri-geration,cooling and heat pumps.The scientifically accepted definition of PFAS comprises those with at le
6、ast one fully fluorinated carbon atom,such as many HFO and HFC refrigerants and their atmospheric degradation byproduct,trifluo-roacetic acid(TFA).In this report the second one ATMOsphere has published on the topic we look at the global impact of these refrigerants and TFA.We make the case that the
