核聚变能具有资源丰富、清洁绿色、安全高效等特点,是人类未来理想终极能源的首要选择。核聚变对比核裂变的主要优势在于:1)资源丰富:核聚变使用的燃料在自然界中十分丰富,获得方式容易。据测算,每升海水中含有 0.03 克氘,全球海水中就有超过 45 万亿吨氘,每升海水中的氘经过聚变反应可以产生 300 升汽油燃烧后释放出的能量。氚则可以利用聚变产生的中子与丰富的天然锂反应产生,这些燃料可供人类使用数百万年之久。2)清洁绿色:核聚变反应过程不产生污染环境的氮化化物和硫化物,不排放二氧化碳,是理想的低碳能源。3)安全高效:由于核聚变过程难以启动和维持,因此不存在失控和熔毁的风险,核聚变只能在严格的操作条件下发生,超出这个条件(例如在事故或系统故障的情况下),等离子体将自然终止,很快失去其能量,并在对反应堆造成任何持续损害之前熄灭,因此,聚变堆的安全性非常高。
